In early March the RAAF celebrated 100 yrs since Australia's first military flight in 1914. The newly built Bristol Boxkite, flew to mark the occasion to the minute of the first flight. Various aircraft from Australia's military history were on show. Sorry it's pretty image heavy.

Hi everyone, here are a few from the inaugural Los Angeles County Air Show. Quite a warm day (heat haze was a pain), but a good show enjoyed by a big crowd.

Hi everyone!!!   It's been quite a while since I've had new photo's to post, as it's been annoyingly quiet on the airshow front for me this year!!! Hope things are a little better next year. 
Early November saw the Temora Aviation Museum put on their second Warbirds Airshow. It was hot again, in the mid to high 30's, so heat haze was a real problem. Hope they are of some interest.

The South Australian Aviation Museum took delivery of this morning, of an F-111C !!! The first of 13 F-111's that are being sent to museums around the country.

Miss this girl !!!

Yesterday the Classic Jet Fighter Museum Parafield Airport, here in Adelaide held an air display in order to raise  money for the rebuild of an F4U-1 Corsair. It was not intended as a full blown airshow, just some aircraft doing fly-by's, with the museums planes on static display. Some rides for the kids etc. Here are a handful of pics from yesterday.

Then sadly the display was cut short, due to the crash of this 80% Spitfire Replica, and the death of local pilot Roger Stokes.   The second pic taken 30 sec before the plane rolled, then dived nose first killing the pilot on impact. A very sad end to what could have been a great family day.

Thought I'd share some photo's from the bi-annual Avalon Airshow, 1-3 March. It was hot, windy and dusty!! The skies were mainly clear, so they are a little bland, and heat haze was bad. Still the flying was good, even if a little high and back from the crowd line. It was good to get back to an airshow though!! Hope you see something you like : ))

I thought I'd share some of our Aussie Warbirds. These photo's are from Temora, about 4.5hrs drive W/SW of Sydney. Temora is our version of Duxford, as it has one of the best collections of warbirds in the country. A hot and windy day, but the variety of aircraft was impressive. It also celebrated 75 Squadron with a fly-by of 5 aircraft that served with that Sqd.

G'day everyone,

Hello all (from down under) as a newcomer to this forum, I just want to say "hi" and how honoured and excited to be accepted into this forum!! The quality of photography produced from the SPFL is outstanding, and makes me strive to lift the quality of my own photography to try and get somewhere close to that quality.
