As a heads up, we'll be having an open day event at the 71st Airbase on July [strike]20th[/strike] 19th. The programme will consist of Mig 21's, C130 Hercules, C27 Spartan, IAR 99 Soim, some general aviation and we're keeping our fingers crossed for the Canadian F18's that are stationed on the base. If you need extra info, please shout at me .

This Open day in 71st air base will be 19 or 20 of July? Or both days?

It's the 19th of July. I wanted to strike-out the 20th, and the forum doesn't understand the bbcode for [strike] .
At the moment we don't have any website... Although it's 90% sure it's going to happen we don't have anything to prove for it... I'm in charge for the poster so I'll keep you up to date .
In theory, it would start at 10-11 in the morning. I'll be going to the base next week to discuss more about the show and what we can do to help them organize it better.
The worst part is that the light is bad from 9-10 am and everything is backlit... Also, there will be some distance between the public and the runway.
I'll keep you in the loop as soon as I know more. If you don't have anything planned for that weekend, please bookmark it. I would be very happy to have you here .

Regarding 19, yes it's real I just got lucky and caught the flame like that . It normally runs pretty smooth .

i mean - they will fly as on Airshow (with flares? ) or just take-off and landings?

I need to check with the base next week the exact proceedings .
The past years, they did a CAS exercise, an air combat simulation, the IAR 99 did a solo, also the MiG had a solo.
The Airclub with the 5 Extra were also invited, but haven't confirmed yet.
I'll get back to you ASAP with more info on what is going on. There were talks of infolving the RCAF F18's in the exercises, but that is pending an approval from the RCAF command.

Hi again,
Just talked to the PR at the base and the plan is for an open day event on the 19th of July. We will be having Mig 21 LanceR's, IAR 330 Puma's, C27J Spartan, IAR 99 Soim (Hawk), there is hope for the Yak 52.
There are high chances that there will be a common exercise with the Canadian CF-18's and the Mig 21 Lancer's.
We will also have some civilian ultralights and hopefully The Hawks of Romania and/or The Aerobatic Yakkers.
It's an open day event but it spans over 2-3 hours and there is lots of action in it. It's more that a few take-offs and landings .
If you are interested, ping me and I will take care of any paperwork that might be necessary here, if we manage to get a special photo position.
