From 3 to 8 Flickr kicked me in the ass... I wasn't paying attention and it decided that it doesn't like to show my pictures at 1024...
If I could edit the post I could mend the problem.

Regarding 7 and 8, there's no flash .
There's just a big ass projector that they use. There's one at the end of the runway that light along the runway and one at the side of the runway that light across it. These two lights should cross and pinpoint the TDZ. They light them up just after the plane is on short final. I'll take some pics of the monstruosity when I get back there.

If that "flash lamp" called APM-90?
We used to light its many years ago on our airfields

I like 1,2,3
from 4 and 5 I prefer 4 - for me it has better composition

6 - great AB flame but... there is no place to run for MiG
7,8 have "central" composition that is not very interesting IMO

You have great time with that beautiful planes!

Thanks for the feedback on the pics.
It's the first time I try to go out of the normal standars for airplane pictures and I'm still learning .

The MiG isn't an easy plane to shoot. It's just a barrel with some wings on it . It also has the pitot tube in the front, which I most always manage to cut off .
The flame is sometimes half the length of the plane and the framing is difficult to achieve.

For 7 and 8 I couldn't find a better crop. I need to experiment more on that .

The flash might well be the APM-90 . I haven't asked, but it looks very similar to what they're using there.

I was talking about "central" framing which is not the very best.
I think about strong lines/points of composition
sometimes slant framing is good and more dynamics
