--- Cytuj ---I've been in close contact with Nikon Switzerland for the last 4 months in order to get my D800 left AF issue fixed. It has been in the shop once and the formerly perfect center AF point wasn't good anymore. Now today I called to see whether there is any news on the AF front.
Nikon Japan have specially developped a high resolution lens to calibrate the D800 AF as well as a new software to allow adjustment of each AF point individually. The service points should get the new hard- and software in the next couple of weeks.
The standard test lens up to now has been the AF 50 f/1.4 D.
Also the production lines will use different equipment to calibrate the AF so that new shipments should be good.
Just wanted to give you a positive news on the otherwise frustrating experience with the D800.
In the meantime I use my newly purchased second hand D700 which is still a very capable camera.
